Retirement age of doctors increased to 62
Latest news coming from Uttarakhand is that now from onwards retirement age of doctors in Uttarakhand is increased to sixty two. Uttarakhand officials are saying that they are facing shortage in medical professionalists. So to overcome this problem they have decided to increase retirement age of doctors. Notification of this news was declared on last evening i.e. 30 Aug evening. According to official data, there is shortage of about more than 400 doctors in state including specialists. This decision benefited Dr Asha Mathur who is Uttarakhand's Director General of Health and was retiring today. Officials are saying nothing on the shortage of specialists in state. According to them, Uttarakhand demands doctors for longer times instead of specialists. So they have decided to increase the retirement age of doctors. According to them the decision of increasing the retirement age will help state to tackle this problem. But finance department of Uttarakhand is in little worry and they are saying that by doing this i.e. by increasing retirement age they are going to create an extra pressure on the state
