Great Himalya in Uttarakhand
The Himalaya is a mountain range in Asia including countries like China, Nepal, India, Pakistan, Bhutan, Burma, Afghanistan. In Sanskrit, Himalaya is known as Devanagari which literary means abode of snow. Himalaya range is the world's highest peak including mountains like K2,Mount Everest and many others, out of which Mount Everest is the world's largest mountain.
Himalaya range is from the Indus river valley to the Brahmaputra river valley. With the variation in climate, rainfall, altitude and soil, the flora and fauna of Himalayan range changes. Many rivers originates from these mountains like Ganga and Yamuna . Himalaya lies on the northern part of Uttarakhand.
Origin of Great Himalaya
When the two continental plates collide i.e. Indo Australian plate and Eurasian plate, they form the fold mountain about 70 million years ago, known as Himalayan range. As both the rocks are of same rock density so couldnot overcome the other and continued to rise. Interestingly, this journey of Himalayas continues today and because of this reason, geologically the Himalayas are still considered to be active.
Mount Everest details
Mount Everest is situated on the border between Nepal and Tibet. Mount Everest is located in the Mahalangur section of Himalaya range and is about 29,029 ft above from sea level. Mount Everest is having naturally extreme climate and is situated on the border between Nepal and Tibet. This was named for Sir George Everest. Everest was the first person to record the location. Mount everest is covered with huge glaciers. January is one of the coldest month of Great Himalya. The vegetation varies according to the height. In the Himalyas it ranges from tropical, Deciduous forests, coniferous forests to alpine grass-lands. Between 1500 metres and 2500 metres most of the trees are conical in shape.
Adventure in Himalaya
You can enhance your adventure experience as Himalaya welcomes you for rafting, trekking, walking, camping, climbing, jeep safari. People above 55 can also climb. By making a team of 2-4 people and without pre-booking and permission, you can climb on these peaks. If you are having the desire to climb ,then it does not require to be a trained climber these peaks require mainly two things:
1. Your desire to climb
2. Basic knowledge that how to climb.
Himalaya range is having beautiful scenery and greenery all around . You can do trekking in Garhwal and kumaon region of Uttarakhand state.
How to reach Himalaya peaks ?
Great Himalaya ,tourists greatest attraction is connected with rest of the world by the medium of rail, road, air.
If you are in Delhi then by the use of airways you can reach to Srinagar and from Srinagar
there are various travelling options which will take you to Himalaya peaks.
If you are interested to go through by road then by the following route you can reach to the Himalayas and the route is :
Delhi via Ghaziabad, Hapur, Gaj raula, Moradabad, Rampur, Kathgodam and Kathgodam is the base camp from where various trekking, climbing and adventure tours in Himalayas are organised.
If you are in Delhi then by rail route you can reach upto Kathgodam and as described above Kathgodam is the base camp for the tourists to enjoy their adventures experience on the Great Himalayas range. It depends on you that whether you choose travelling via road, air, rail.
